Energetic Edge wishes to acknowledge that we live, work, and play on Treaty 8 Territory, home of Dane Zaa, Cree, and Beaver Nations, and on the traditional lands of MÉtis peoples.
Founded on May 1, 2015 in Fort St. John, British Columbia, Energetic Edge Cheer Association stands as the exclusive Recreational and Competitive All-Star Cheerleading Club in the peace region. This non-profit organization is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors.
All-Star Cheerleading is one of the fastest growing sports in Canada. The goal is to learn and perfect a routine showcasing the stunting, tosses, jumps, dance, and tumbling that athletes have learned over the season and to compete their routine proudly at competitions and community performances. It is a challenging power/explosion style sport that requires dedication, strength, coordination, flexibility, and of course, high energy! A true team sport, athletes quickly gain an understanding of teamwork, sportsmanship and cooperation. All while working together to “Hit Zero” or perform a perfect routine!

The all-star season starts in August with a Skills Camp. Tryouts are not necessary but begin with athlete assessments. We generally accept athletes onto these teams until early September pending space and team needs.
Prep begins with team athlete assessments . Practices starting in September. New registrations generally accepted until early September pending space.
Recreational cheer runs in several sessions: Fall (OCT-JAN), Winter (FEB-MAY), Intro to Cheer (May).
At Energetic Edge Cheer we offer 3 types of cheer teams: all-star, prep, and recreational. Both all-star & prep are competitive programs.
more information
ALL star cheer
All-Star Cheerleading is a competitive sport that combines gymnastics, dance, stunts, and high-energy routines performed on a spring floor. Unlike school cheerleading, which supports sports teams, all-star teams focus solely on competition, training year-round to perfect their skills. Athletes perform fast-paced, choreographed routines that showcase tumbling, jumps, pyramids, and stunts, all judged on difficulty, execution, and synchronisation. Competitions range from local events to major national and international championships.
prep & prep plus cheer
Prep Cheerleading is a division of all-star cheer designed for athletes looking for a lower-commitment, beginner friendly introduction to competitive cheer. Prep teams practice fewer hours per week, have less intense tumbling and stunting requirements, and typically compete at smaller events with a more relaxed scoring system. This program allows athletes to build skills, confidence, and expierence in a fun and supportive environment before potentially moving into full all-star cheerleading.
recreational cheer
Recreational cheerleading is a non-competitive program that focuses on building cheer skills in a fun and inclusive environment. Offered through the season multiple times includes basic stunting, tumbling, jumps, and dance, with the emphasis on teamwork and spirit. Some recreational teams perform at local events or exhibitions. It’s a great option for athletes who want to enjoy cheer without the high commitment of all-star cheerleading.

It is great to know that participants have the option to choose between Recreational and Competitive Programs based on their preferences and commitment level. The Recreational Program, with practices held only on Saturdays and no travel requirements, provides more flexible and less intense option for those looking to enjoy cheerleading at a more relaxed pace. On the other hand, the Competitive Program with more frequent practices and travel commitments for competitions, offers a more structured and competitive ecperience for those looking to challenge themselves and compete against other teams. It is wonderful to see the Edge Cheer provides these diverse opportunities for participants in the community.

It is fantastic to hear that Edge Cheer provides opportunities for athletes to continue their skill building and growth in cheerleading during the summer months. This allows participants to stay engaged and continue developing their abilities outside of the regular season, ensuring that they are well-prepared for the upcoming season.
