The enthusiastic volunteer coaches at energetic edge cheer are dedicated to their extensive training, which includes Concussion Awareness, Respect in Sport, nfhs coaching certifications, as well as b.c. cheer and cheer canada certifications. each edge coach undergoes a thorough screening with a criminal record check and is equipped with valid first aid & cpr training. they are committed to continuous learning and regularly participate in new training opportunities to stay current with the evolving requirements of the cheerleading sport.

Brandie Wheatley

Director/Coach Gold Level 3

 Brandie, who initially served as a Team Mom for Energetic Edge Cheer starting in 2015, transitioned to a certified coaching role in 2018. She now leads both the All-Star Cheerleading Recreational and Competitive Programs at Edge Cheer. Brandie firmly advocates for teamwork and emphasizes the importance of open communication to boost athletes’ confidence and create a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere for all. By working together, we can attain remarkable success both in the gym and out on the performance floor!


desirae bedell

Coach bronze Level 1

In 2015 Desirae became a part of Energetic Edge Cheer community when the program first opened it’s doors. As a dedicated Cheer Mom to five daughters on various teams and levels, Desirae quickly developed a deep passion for the competitive sport of all-star cheerleading. In 2022, Desirae embarked on her coaching journey after investing in volunteering at Edge Gym. She was able to obtain her BC Cheer Level 1 credentials, marking the beginning of a new chapter in coaching with Edge Cheer. Desirae firmly believes that hard work and teamwork are essential foundations for a successful, enjoyable, and safe cheer season.

Claire was a spirited member of Energetic Edge from 2015 to 2022, where she found her passion for cheerleading and eventually transitioned into coaching in 2020. Her journey then led her to Vancouver to pursue her studies at UBC, where she continued to cheer at CheerSport Sharks. She even had the incredible opportunity to compete at the Cheerleading Worlds on their level 6 team. Claire is thrilled to be a part of UBC Cheer’s prestigious level 7 premier team. As a coach, Claire prioritizes the mastery of technique, cleanliness, and performance. She believes strongly in fostering a supportive and respectful team environment, where every member is valued and encouraged to express their true selves. With her extensive background as an athlete, Claire is well-equipped to guide her team in both the physical and mental aspects of the sport. Claire is determined to stay connected with Edge virtually and will be actively involved in choreography and cleanup camps this season. She is excited to continue making a positive impact on the cheerleading community and supporting her athletes in achieving their full potential.


kendyl livingston

coach Bronze level 2

 In 2016, Kendyl joined the Prep Team at Energetic Edge and quickly developed a passion for cheerleading. She progressed to an All Star team the following season and dedicated six more years to cheering. A standout moment in her athletic career was clinching first place at BC Provincials in 2020, a significant achievement after years of hard work and dedication. In 2022, Kendyl obtained her level 2 coaching certification and has since spent three years coaching. In this role, she imparts her expertise and enthusiasm to her athletes, aiming to inspire them to embrace cheerleading and excel as athletes. Her time with Energetic Edge has taught her valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, determination, and commitment. Currently in her second year at Northwestern Polytechnic pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Kendyl remains actively involved with Edge through virtual platforms and oversees summer drop-ins, choreography, and cleanup camps.
